  • Utilizing advanced power electronics, the LVSS eliminates a traditional 12V battery, saving vehicle weight. This integrated system controls vehicle startup and powers electronics directly from our 400V battery. Strategically placed Vicors interface with a custom cold plate for active cooling as part of the enclosure structure.

  • Designed as a central element of REV2’s vehicle network, this device acts as an interface between our chassis and powertrain CAN busses. The newest revision of the GUB enables diagnostics over WIFI when the bike is in the pit.

  • The BMS is responsible for ensuring sound operation of REV2’s battery pack. Cell assemblies voltage’s are balanced using passive methodologies and temperatures are monitored for peak performance and safety. Core components of the BMS are generously provided by Texas Instruments and Linear Technologies.

Mechanical Elements

  • Sitting at 400V, this battery pack packs a punch delivering 450A at a moments notice. Four cold plates for liquid cooling also act as structural elements of the battery.

  • Responsible for maintaining stable temperatures, the TMS monitors temperatures throughout the bike and controls the pumps and fans accordingly.

  • Designed from the onset for optimal motor and battery placement, the handling characteristics match that of typical high performance bikes. Extensive finite element analysis was carried out to ensure REV2’s structure would perform as expected.

REV2 HISTORY

Early Stage Design

Development of REV2 began in the Spring of 2018. The all electric motorbike was designed to be a power packed hill climb racing motorcycle designed for Pikes Peak.

Imagine RIT 2019 Debut

After months of hard work by the team REV2 made its debut in the Spring of 2019 at RIT’s annual event showcasing work from students across the university.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2019

The team undertook Pikes Peak in June of 2019. Despite the demanding and intense nature of the event, REV2 kept pace with many of the competitors on the mountain. The team learned a lot about the bike’s capabilities and piqued the interest of many attendees at this globally renowned race in the mountains of Colorado.

NJMP 2021

In the summer of 2021 REV2 placed 1st in the Formula Lightning Class of the 2021 AHRMA Bridgestone Tires National Historic Road-Race at New Jersey Motorsport Park.
